The Blue Room is the MCR's recreational room, where members can use a fully-equipped entertainment system.
Large leather sofas and polished coffee tables make this room an attraction for the MCR's earlier risers, who come in to enjoy coffee from the kitchen and the various newspapers and periodicals to which the MCR subscribes. At night, the MCR Bar looks directly into the Blue Room, which makes this room a lively centre of activity during events and functions held in the MCR.

The Wood Room is the more refined of the MCR's two lounges. It is walled with antique oak panels and comfortably furnished with leather sofas.
Most of the MCR's events begin in the Wood Room. Before Formal Hall, graduates meet there to enjoy sherry and port, and after meals they frequently retire to the Wood Room for after-dinner coffee and conversation, or the Sunday Arts series of exhibitions of members' art. The MCR's soirees are also held in this more intimate space. Incongrously, the Wood Room can be transformed into the dance floor for the MCR's bops.

The MCR Bar is stocked, maintained, and operated by the MCR. In April of 2004, it was redesigned and rennovated, and is open twenty-four hours every day to all MCR members. The Bar Tsar manages the bar inventory and changes the stock to reflect the tastes of the MCR. In the Bar, you will find an array of spirits, beer, lager, stout, bitter, cider, alco-pops, soda, juice, and snack food awaiting your consumption!
The bar is run by the Bar Tsar and his/her sub-committee to offer your services and recieve your personal key, contact the Bar Tsar. Drinks are sold at a significant cut below commercial prices.
There are a number of well equipped computers in the MCR's Computer Room, linked to a laser printer on-site. The computers are also hooked-up to the Pembroke's internal network as well as to the College's high-speed Internet connection. Each student is given a user name and password when they arrive, and in order to use a computer, a student must log-in to the system. Paper is provided by the MCR and each student is individually billed (on his or her battels) for printing usage (3p per sheet). The Wood Room is a wireless space.
The Kitchen is also maintained by the MCR. Coffee, tea, and hot cocoa are always free and available for members. Our renowned fortified wine cellar is stored in this room in readiness for MCR Banquets.
The College offers a number of additional facilities that are available to MCR members. The Pembroke Boathouse has training and exercise equipment, although it is more specifically geared for rowers. Pembroke's sports grounds and pavilion are a ten-minute walk from the campus, and include tennis courts, a squash court, football pitches, and a cricket oval. In the summer, the Chapel Quad doubles as a croquet field. The MCR has its own croquet equipment, which is kept in the Wood Room, and owns its own punt for glorious summer days on the river.
There are music rooms for practicing and rehearsing, one of which houses a first class Steinway Grand Piano. The College Library is a lending library and is open late most nights. For more information on the Library's hours and operations, visit the Library's homepage. The Ward-Perkins Room, directly below the Wood Room, has arcade games, a quiz machine, and table football, and below the Blue Room, the JCR maintains a pool table. There is also a College Bar, located under the Hall, which is open to all of Pembroke. This is a great place to meet the undergraduate half of Pembroke.
