2009 WOOD ROOM PRIZE

If one picture tells a thousand words, what can be told by two?

The Pembroke College Wood Room Prize has been founded to stimulate thought and discussion within the College’s graduate community. It aims to put to paper the many varied perspectives that characterise discussions in the Wood Room. It is a literary prize: inviting essays, prose or poetry of no more than 1000 words. Applicants are provided with two pictures and asked to shape a piece of writing around them. Unique perspectives are encouraged.

RULES: MCR members only (4th years included); No more than 1000 words; subject matter must be relevant to both pictures featured at the bottom of this page

DUE DATE: To be announced

HOW TO SUBMIT: Submitted electronically as a Microsoft Word document to laura.taylor@pmb.ox.ac.uk, with your name in the subject of the email but not in the essay file itself.

JUDGING: Essays will be anonymous. Last years panel of judges was led by Dr Helen Small.
