YEARS AT PEMBROKE Four
STRENGTH ON THE COMMITTEE This will be my fifth year at Pembroke. Not only do I know the college and the city of Oxford inside-out and back-to-front, but I have experienced life in both the undergraduate and graduate communities, and can testify that Pembroke truly is the best place to spend your academic years.
WHY PEMBROKE? Pembroke MCR is, by far, the most active within the University. I was initially nervous about moving from the college’s undergraduate community through to its graduate community but, as soon as I stepped into the Blue Room that first night of Freshers week, I felt at home. The last three terms have, without a doubt, been my favourite at Oxford; I have forged life-long ties within Pembroke MCR and have had the most amazing experiences along the way.
FAVOURITE OXFORD MOMENT SO FAR? Our termly MCR banquets. They’re legendary around here!
NUMBER ONE TIP FOR FRESHERS Get involved in college life and try not to spend all your Oxford years, however many they may be, in your department. This place is incredible; it has so much to offer – socially, academically – and I encourage you to make the most of it!
