By Train

Oxford is well served by the railway network, perhaps the quickest way of getting into the city. Click HERE to access rail schedules.

Having arrived at Oxford station, there are three ways to get to college. By bus, take one of the Oxford Bus Company buses (about 50p), either the X3 to St. Aldates (stopping just up and across the street from Pembroke Square), or the no. 5 to Carfax Tower, 3 minutes walk up St Aldates from college; by taxi (the best option if you have a lot of luggage) ask for Pembroke College (about £3).

By Coach

Coaches arrive at Gloucester Green bus station. There is no direct bus from there to College, so you must either walk or take a taxi (waiting in a queue on the other side of Gloucester Green). The bus station is less than ten minutes walk from Colelge.

By Car

The road layout of Oxford city centre is also shown on one of the enclosed maps. Be sure to allow time for severe traffic jams when entering or leaving Oxford during the rush-hour (approximately 8-9 am and 4-6 pm).

Upon Arrival

Collect your room key from the Porters' Lodge. The porter will also be able to direct you to your room. To be met when you arrive, e-mail the Head Porter (brian.harvey@pmb.ox.ac.uk), who will help you arrange your arrival. Cars can only be parked in the college grounds for as long as it is necessary to unload luggage.
