THE MCR
The MCR is housed in a suite of rooms between Old Quad and the College Library. It is directly above the Junior Common Room, the undergraduate facilities. The MCR’s rooms span the entire width of the Quad. The facilities include two lounges, a computing room, a bar, and a kitchen. MCR members can access the MCR with their college-issued salto cards year round.
THE WOOD ROOM
This is our cosy, wood panelled lounge open to MCR members at all hours of the day and night. During the daytime it hosts the day's newspapers, the biscuit tin and much tea drinking. In the evening, it is a popular spot to retire for an evening coffee and a chat.
THE BLUE ROOM
The blue room houses the MCR TV, playstation and weekly bar nights. Large comfy sofas, reading nooks by the windows and multiple tables make this the ultimate study spot. Even better, the blue room doubles as a party venue every Friday night, hosting our beloved MCR bar in its northwestern corner.
THE ROSE & THISTLE
This is the MCR's very own bar, which opens Fridays 8:30-11:30pm every week, both in and out of term!
We stock a truly massive selection of beverages - and often a homemade infusion or two. We are also extremely well-priced - with beers from just £1 and mixers at £1.50.
Each week we also run a selection of cocktail and mocktail specials
THE KITCHEN
This is the holy abode of the MCR coffee machine and kettle. In addition to various caffeinated and herbal infusions, here you can often find leftover food from MCR events. The kitchen is stocked with crockery, utensils, a dishwasher and a microwave that you are welcome to use, as long as you wash up after yourself and keep it tidy!
